Riekkosuo Headquarters, designed for forest walkers, represents original Finnish wooden construction The cottage stands in the middle of a magnificent Finnish forest landscape. The courtyard has the features of a meadow, and the tranquil meadow pond with its beach huts and sauna will soothe your mind at the end of a successful day in the woods.
Come alone, with a friend or a group. Riekkosuonpääja is ideal for individual hikers, families or larger groups.
Type of the main cottage and yard
The Riekkosuo Headquarters was built in 2011 by the Finnlamel factory in Alajärvi and is divided into a living room with kitchenette, two bedrooms and a loft. Outside the cabin, in the surrounding area, you will find two cottages for additional accommodation, a wood-fired sauna and a lot, dry toilets and wood stoves. An accessible 250 m path connects the cottage to Kuusilampi, where you will find a beach hut and a beach sauna with a large dock and a swimming ladder.
Riekkosuo Headquarters is available all year round.
Riekkosuo Headquarters is suitable for a maximum of 10-15 people. The number of guests can be increased by a total of seven people by using the cottages in the yard. If required, Savota's excellent half-tent with fireplace can accommodate up to 10 more people. So a complete and memorable wilderness experience can be arranged for about 30 forest lovers. There is also a small wetland with rainbow trout near the yard area on the way to Lake Myllyjärvi. The wetland also allows duck hunting in the autumn.
Location and access to the Riekkosuo farm
Riekkosuo Headquarters is located in Perho, Finland, in the middle of the marshlands near the Salamajärvi National Park at Penningintie 454, Perho. The cottage yard is easily accessible by vehicle and even by bus. The distance from the cabin to the main hiking trails of Salamajärvi National Park to the Koirajärvi parking area is 29 km and takes about 40 minutes. To the parking lot of Lake Erijärvi, the distance to the Peura Trail hiking trail is about 14 km, about 15 min. in time. The distance to the centre of Perho is about 16 km, 20 min. in time.

The monument is located 1.5 km from the site. The historic cultural and traditional monument celebrated its 100th anniversary in 1925.

Reservation and use of the cottage area
The oarfish pond area is available for reservation throughout the year. The price is higher in autumn and winter due to the cost of heating.
The accommodation is at the tenant's disposal from 14:00 on the day of arrival until 12:00 on the day of departure. The tenant is not allowed to enter the area until the booking period starts.
Cleaning, final cleaning and rubbish
The tenant is responsible for the cleanliness of the property, its grounds and the services attached to it. The site must be thoroughly cleaned up after use so that the next visitor will find it pleasant to come and enjoy the wilderness.
Pets and hunting dogs.
Dogs are welcome at Riekkosuonpää Cottage for outdoor accommodation. The yard features a dog run with two "rooms" (kennels). You must inform us in advance about the dog run reservation by phone at 0503565550, as the run may otherwise be in use for other purposes. Please avoid having dogs inside due to customer allergies.
If a dog defecates in the yard area, it must be strictly cleaned up, just as cleaning the dog run is mandatory upon departure. The waste must be collected into the barrel at the designated burning spot.
